Clarification Technical Screening Criteria under Taxonomy Regulation

The Technical Screening Criteria in Annex I contains some apparent inconsistencies applying to HVACR equipment manufacturing under Article 3.5. These inconsistencies have been pointed out to DG FISMA and DG ENER. Meanwhile, the Platform on Sustainable Finance has published its draft recommendations to the Commission for the remaining 4 environmental objectives, which may also have an impact on HVACR equipment manufacturing. Feedback is open until 24 September.

Non-paper by 9 Member States on Sustainable Products Initiative

A joint non-paper co-signed by 9 Member States (Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Spain) on the Sustainable Products Initiative (SPI) advocates the development of a consistent and complete methodology for assessing the environmental, climate and health impacts of products suggesting the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) could be used as a basis.

JRC report on national progress in implementing EPBD published

The study identified that the renovation rate in the Member States is still low. Less than half of the Member States provide a clear roadmap towards a decarbonised building stock by 2050, while the majority present a high level of ambition, this is not always supported by comprehensive policies.
