Notes of stakeholder meeting on technical building systems study

The stakeholder meeting to present and discuss findings of the technical assistance study for ensuring optimal performance of Technical Building Systems under the EPBD was held on 1 July 2021. Estimates of the total energy saving potential in the EU due to correctly implemented system performance requirements were provided.

Study on optimal performance of Technical Building System (TBS) under the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) (GEN – 1260.00)

<p>The stakeholder meeting to present and discuss findings of the technical assistance study for ensuring optimal performance of Technical Building Systems under the EPBD was held on 01 July 2021. The objective of the study is to develop guidance for Member States aimed at supporting the effective establishment and enforcement of Articles 8(1), 8(9) on system requirements for Technical Building Systems, and Articles 14(4) and 15(4) on the automation and control systems for heating and air conditioning systems of the EPBD Directive. According to estimates, the total energy saving potential in the EU due to correctly implemented system performance requirements for TBS ranges from 14% to 31%. The largest saving potential is related to space heating, but space cooling and ventilation are also of high relevance.</p>

UK Statutory Instrument introducing Ecodesign and Energy Information requirements (GEN – 1261.00)

<p>On 18 June 2021, UK has published its Statutory Instrument introducing Ecodesign and Energy Labelling requirements for a set of products. Those of relevance for Eurovent are Refrigerating Appliances with a Direct Sales Function and Electric Motors and Variable Speed Drives.</p>
