<p>The European Commission DG Environment proposed the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) and Organisation Environmental Footprint (OEF) methods as a way of measuring environmental performance. The initial ideas were developed in the 2010s, under the 2020 Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP) and the current consultation on the Sustainable Products Initiative (SPI). It looks like PEF may possibly fit in future legislation.</p>

The pandemic has obliged EEDAL to move its conference from November 2021 to June 2022. <p>The main objective of the ANTICSS project is to detect and prevent circumvention behaviour. Within the project the notions of circumvention and jeopardy effects have been identified. A few Room Air Conditioners and Liquid Chilling Packages have been subjected to applicable and alternative testing to detect circumvention, as have been other products. The consultants are now looking for the industry views on the recommendations they would present to the policy makers.</p>
